How to Export Booking CSVs for TallyRoost

Short steps for the files TallyRoost Import accepts: Airbnb earnings CSV (Create report, not PDF), VRBO payout CSV, Hospitable reservations export (legacy email CSV), or a filled TallyRoost template with a header row and at least one stay. Upload or paste. Educational only; not tax advice.

Today, TallyRoost imports are a file upload or a paste. Import accepts an Airbnb earnings CSV, a VRBO payout CSV, a Hospitable reservations export, or a filled TallyRoost template with a header row and at least one stay. Open Import on app.tallyroost.com. Live Hospitable sync is not available. Hospitable API reconnect is coming later.

Airbnb — paid earnings CSV

This is the Airbnb earnings CSV. Use Create report. Do not use the PDF monthly statement.

Open Airbnb Earnings → Paid (or Today → Menu → Earnings → Paid). Sign in if asked.
Filter listings, payout method, and dates if you want a smaller file.
Tap Get report. Choose Open on your device or Email your report. Pick the data fields. Tap Create report.
Save the CSV.
In TallyRoost Import, upload that file or paste the full table, including the header row.

VRBO — payout summary

This is the VRBO payout CSV. Use the payout summary, not a PDF.

Open VRBO → Financial reporting → Payout summary. Sign in if asked.
Set the date range.
Select the property.
Download CSV from the export icon at the top right of the table.
Upload or paste that file in TallyRoost Import. Keep the header row.

Hospitable — reservations export (legacy email CSV)

This is the Hospitable reservations export. Use Legacy exports and the file Hospitable emails. Do not paste the property summary screen. This path is a file upload, not a live sync.

Open Hospitable → Metrics → Legacy exports.
Stay on Reservations & Financials. Set the date range, filters, and columns.
Tap Export. Hospitable emails the .csv. Use Earlier Exports if you need to download it again.
Download the CSV from that email.
Upload or paste it in TallyRoost Import.

Hospitable API reconnect is coming later. Until then, upload or paste this CSV. Do not wait on a live connection.

TallyRoost template

On Import, download the TallyRoost template. Keep the header row, add at least one stay, and upload the filled file. An empty template is not enough.

After you have the file

If the file is empty, Import says: This file is empty. Upload an Airbnb earnings CSV, a VRBO payout CSV, a Hospitable reservations export, or a filled TallyRoost template with a header row and at least one stay.

If it is the wrong export, Import says: This is not a supported export. Upload an Airbnb earnings CSV, a VRBO payout CSV, a Hospitable reservations export, or a filled TallyRoost template.

Read What to paste (and what not to). The usual miss is a summary screen, a screenshot, or rows with no header.

Frequently asked questions

Should I upload the Airbnb PDF earnings statement?

No. Open Earnings → Paid, then Get report → Create report, and save the CSV. That Airbnb earnings CSV is what Import accepts. The PDF monthly statement is not a supported export.

Which VRBO report should I export?

The payout summary. Set the date range, pick the property, and download the CSV from the export icon. That VRBO payout CSV has per-booking gross, deductions, and payout.

Where do I get the Hospitable CSV?

In Hospitable, open Metrics → Legacy exports → Reservations & Financials, then Export. Hospitable emails the reservations export (.csv). Download that file (or redownload it under Earlier Exports) and upload or paste it. That is a file, not a live sync. Do not paste the property summary screen.

Does TallyRoost sync Hospitable automatically?

Not today. Upload or paste the reservations export CSV. Hospitable API reconnect is coming later. Live sync is not available yet.

Can I use the TallyRoost template?

Yes. On Import, download the template, keep the header row, and add at least one stay before you upload it. An empty template is turned away.

Where do I put the file in TallyRoost?

Sign in at https://app.tallyroost.com and open Import. Upload the CSV or paste the full table, including the header row. New accounts start at https://accounts.tallyroost.com/sign-up.
